Dr. Xu worked at CRRC ZIYANG CO., LTD. from 2000 to 2007, during which he received the B.S. in Mechatronics in 2006 by self-study. In Sep. 2007 he moved to the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China (UESTC) for master study and received the M.S.c in Measurement Technology and Instrumentation in 2010. From Sep. 2010 to Aug. 2011, he was a PhD candidate at UESTC. In Sep. 2011, he moved to the Eindhoven University of Technology (TU/e), from where he received the Ph.D. in Jan. 2016. After that, he worked at the TU/e as a postdoc researcher until 2019. After that, Dr. Xu joined the ShanghaiTech University as an assistant professor and Ph.D. supervisor.

Dr. Xu’s research focuses on biomedical signal processing and its application in neuromuscular rehabilitation and ambulatory monitoring. He has published more than ten papers in prestigious journals and conferences, such as J Neural Eng, IEEE Trans Neural syst Rehabil Eng, IEEE Trans Instrum Meas, and IEEE EMBC. He also presented his works in several international conferences and won two Best Paper Awards. Dr. Xu is a member of the IEEE and a member of the ISEK. He is also a reviewer of several top journals, including IEEE Trans Biomed Eng, IEEE J Biomed Health Inform, and IEEE Trans Instrum Meas.
